While it can be difficult to select songs from a decade of music, this set of CD's does a good job of having a diverse collection. I can't say that I like all of the songs, but I do like the vast majority of them.
The quality of the recordings is excellent. I recall that there were some collections of hit music released many Get Out Of My Life - Various - Top Hits Top 100 Volume 9 ago that were re-recordings by the original artist or artists, but they weren't as good as the originals.
These recordings are the real deal. The packaging is not a problem with me. It is a fold out holder that fits one CD in each folding section. The contents of the CD is printed on the folding section that the CD is stored in. Top critical review. September 19, Most of these are re-records and not remastered and are from the mid to late sixties The songs are just not that good for me Stick with the Rock N Roll Era compilations or the Time Life compilations.

So it was Joplin who actually had the cover version! But where else can you get seventy Top 40 hits for that price? Will you like every song? Personally, I think this set would be a steal at double the price! I have dozen and dozens of 60s hit collections and box sets, and without a doubt this set is the best value.

Efficient storability is a huge factor for me at this point in my life. Get Out Of My Life - Various - Top Hits Top 100 Volume 9 knew most of the songs on here, and loved all of those. Martians Go Home - Shorty Rogers And His Giants - The Swinging Mr.
Rogers were a few songs I didn't know, but I like them as well--they are not filler. Sound quality on all of the songs was superb I have no complaints at all. This set is White Christmas - Various - Christmas Eve With Colonel Sanders bargain and I can't fathom how it can have less than 5 stars.
I'm buying all the others sets by this label right now. The cd's packed with the popular tunes plus a few I don't remember but are fun to listen to. These seem to be the original songs that were played on the radio back then.
That's important bc some CDs have the original singers but were badly arranged songs that were never released. Sound is great re-mastered?? My favorite music is from the '50s and '60s; I was in my teens and twenties then.
I, also, play guitar and enjoy playing along with the tunes on this cd collection. I'm well pleased with this purchase. I am very happy with the number of songs on this purchase. I like most of them and listened to all of them the first time through. Later when I was in the mood for some '60s songs, I listened to only the songs that I liked. You can do that, too, and you would still have many songs for a good price.
Now, here is the problem: some of the songs are less than perfect. The recording on some songs is not exactly what you heard on the radio. The song is performed by the artist but the horns, or violins, or other sounds the producer would add are not on the recording on some songs. With a compilation of Best of the s, a number of favorites are bound to be overlooked and several of your personal favorites will be not included.
That is the case here. Most of the songs are familiar, a variety of the artists are included. I believe these collections take songs from available 'B-list' artists and cull their best 2 or 3 and add the odd one hit wonders that might have made the top When you are trying to gather only songs from a ten year range, many are going to be overlooked. But some should not. This is on the cusp of that situation. There are enough here to justify the purchase, just not enough to be really pleasing to all.
My personal collection runs the gamut from ish to ; LPs - 8-track - cassettes - CDs Not to mention the Get Out Of My Life - Various - Top Hits Top 100 Volume 9 through the s. If you are starting a personal collection for yourself, you could do worse, but you could do better. It all depends on your taste and memories. If you lived the sixties, pass on this one. If they are really enthusiastic, by all means buy it. I'm just a bit more particular. It's hard to find a collection of hits that does not overlap others of that type. They tried. I give them credit for All I Need - Mood Ruff - Maxim (2014 Remaster) The selection is adequate, and the value is there, but the main problem, is that most songs are cut off by ten or more seconds.
Examples: During a guitar solo, by Carlos Santana, the song fades, but way too early, during his guitar solo. In the smash hit, by Zaeger and Evans, " In the Year ", near the end, it cuts off during actual lyrics. And most others too. Imports are rarely good. They are the original recordings, but you will hear one song in mono, the next in a much higher volume, etc.
There are quite a few non hits, and songs not rock or pop, but that's to be expected in a low price CD. There was one song though, that I have not heard in 35 years, a real nice flash- " Flowers on the Wall" by the Statler Brothers, a nice little ditty.
