This is not the first time Mads has shared the stage with the legendary Mr. Just wanted to wish you all a happy Christmas!
Thanks for visiting the site and for all your kind comments and support! This pseudo-flamenco piece, originally from the Journey albumhas been a favourite on Mads' live shows for years and is now Circulation - Controlled Mayhem especially for this site.
It has increased a bit in speed and length over the years. You'll find it in the albums section - enjoy! E, Intermission Troldhaugen and Redhanded directly from us. Orders can be directed to mads madseriksen. Mads is off to London today for a songwritng session with Chris Thompson for the Rediscovery album that will be completed early next year and presented at the Bergen Music Fest Ole Blues in April This Schoolboy Pranks - Lee Holdridge - E Lollipop (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) part of a cultural festival arranged by Kulturavdelingen, Bergenhus bydel.
By the way, thanks for all the kind comments that you have e-mailed and texted me about the concert - glad you liked it! We are still in the progress of negotiating a deal for DVD release of the concert, so hopefully it will be out soon. I will play songs from all my albums, and it will be pretty much like the one I did Estoy Buscando A Kako - The Alegre All Stars - They Just Dont Makim Like Us Any More March this year.
I have added a couple of new things though - I'm also in the progress of writing an all-acoustic album which will hopefully be released next year.
Due to all the hard work left on the New Zealand recording, Chris T. We would really have wanted to play, but we intend to do exensive touring after the release concert on the Bergen Music Fest Ole Blues next year.
Then we'll also have a lot of new material to present, so I hope you will find it worth waiting for. Well deserved - he's had a really unique year long The Party Jig - Chris Thompson & Mads Eriksen - REDISCOVERY A Musical Journey as a blues musician in Norway, which is beyond impressive.
Salute, bro'! Sorry folks, the support performance for Ritchie Blackmore in Bergen on June 5 was not going to happen - it was a last minute descision that the opening act me was left out due to "productional difficulties". That's just life, I guess - nothing to do with me or the local organizers Ole Blues. I must admit that my face turned, well, deep purple, when I first learned that we were not going to be on the gig, since I've done several interviews about it and done some serious rehearsing with my band -- but hey, that never hurts anyway.
We'll keep on rocking in the free world! Mads has started to use Laney amplifiers exclusively. After checking out several models, he stuck with the TTH top with a TTA cabinet as a main setup, and the TT50 combo with a 12"speaker for smaller venues.
In middle- and neck position are now Fender Texas Special pickups. The 1hour 30min. Add to that a healthy dose of Chris' later Be Mine Again (Piango Con Me) - The Skope - Be Mine Again / From, and you have tons of good reasons to stay up late that night!
It starts at Mads will be joined on stage by long time companion Frank Hovland on bass and Zsolt Mescaros on drums. They'll play some of Eriksen's more folky and subdued material, and as The Party Jig - Chris Thompson & Mads Eriksen - REDISCOVERY A Musical Journey tribute to the evening's main act, maybe a little piece by Edvard Grieg - due to mr.

Chris, who grew up in New Zealand, have all the time since we first met gone on and on about what an incredible place New Zealand is, so it was my idea that we should go there and record an album one day. We have worked really hard for the last two years to make that happen, so it was a great pleasure when our project finally materilalized. Chris and I have worked on the music constantly over those two years, making demoes and swapping ideas.
I was over at his place in Newport Beach, CA, in February, where we wrote a couple of new songs together and decided which of the things we had written that should go on the record. We came to New Zealand on March 25, and spent the first week travelling around in a rented van on the North Island. On board where also Chris's longtime friend Andy Palace, and Anita Langthaller, who where shooting a TV documentary about the journey and the recordings.
We saw a lot of incredible places, like Cape Rienga, the wild and windy spot up north, Roturua with the geysers and boiling mud, and the fantastic Waitomo caves with the glow worms - the sensations are to many to mention. After a week of travelling we arrived at the spectacular Piha Beach, west of Auckland city, where we stayed in a big house that we rented while we were rehearsing and recording.
The recordings took place in York Street studios in the Parnell area of Auckland. It proved to be a great studio, the sound was fantastic and the people were the best. We worked with technicians Clint, who is the most fabulous Pro Tools-guy I've ever seen, and Steve, who was 2nd engineer. They were great guys to work with. We recorded very intensively for 8 days and recorded a huge amount of music.
It was a great recording experience. Working with Chris is such a thrill, as a singer he is second to none, and he is also a great songwriter and has a remarkable ability to get the best out of the people he works with.
I'm really proud to be around great musicians like Frank, Steinar and Gunnar - they all play so incredibly well that recording with them is just a pleasure, so easy. We were also fortunate enough to have a lot of local mucicians guesting on the record, which really gave the recordings a great vibe. One night we had a maori culture group who sang backupvocals and sang some of their traditonal tunes.
We will do The Party Jig - Chris Thompson & Mads Eriksen - REDISCOVERY A Musical Journey recordings at Chris's studio in Newport Beach and in Bergen, and the plan is to go back to New Zealand and do the final mixing in November. We are going to tour extensively in September, we're going to play probably in Germany, Austria and Norway. Rock on! Their gig at Madam Felle in Bergen on may 23 is rescheduled to may 9, and on may 10 they are going to play at the Balajazz festival.
The new record will probably be released in february Also check Chris Thompsons site for a more detailed description of the ideas behind the album. Mads is doing his first soloconcert ever on Madam Felle in Bergen on thursday march It will be just the man and his guitar smostly acoustic material.
The repertoire will cover his entire year recording career. Mads has just come back from Newport Beach, California after an intensive songwriting session with Chris Thompson in preparation for the upcoming recordings in New Zealand, starting on march Live dates with different ME projects this year:. Details will be announced.
